Choosing shower door hardware

Four pieces. Your glazier will tell you which your screen needs.

Rennes: glass to wall

Geneva: glass to glass

A hinge that hangs the door from a fixed glass panel. 110 × 90 mm.

Rhodes: glass clamp

Holds a fixed glass panel in place. 60 × 29.5 × 20.5 mm.

Corfu: door knobs

Back-to-back 30 mm knobs through the glass, one each side.

Shower screen hardware questions

Shower door hinges NZ: can they be replaced?

Often, if the new hinge matches your glass thickness, hinge type and existing holes, because toughened glass can't be re-drilled. Ours suit 8–12 mm glass; ask your glazier to check the hole positions.

Can a shower door be hinged to a glass panel?

Yes, with a glass-to-glass hinge such as the Geneva. For a door hung off the wall, the Rennes is the glass-to-wall version.

Are all shower door handles the same size?

No. Ours, the Corfu, is a pair of Ø30 mm knobs with an overall length of 63–80 mm; check it against your glass and the hole in it.

Who installs shower screen hardware?

Your glazier or shower-screen installer, because the glass is cut and drilled to suit the fittings before it is toughened.

Will it match my taps?

Yes, in the same finish: every hinge, clamp and knob comes in the six finishes of our tapware.

Shower door hinges for frameless glass

On a frameless screen each shower door hinge carries the door and stays in view, so we make them in the six finishes of our tapware. Both suit 8 to 12 mm toughened glass and are 304 stainless steel, like the clamp and knobs that go with them.

Glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall

The Geneva (110 × 90 mm) joins the door to a fixed glass panel. The Rennes fixes the door to the wall with a 90 × 64 mm plate. Fixed panels are held by the Rhodes glass clamp, 60 × 29.5 × 20.5 mm, which does the job of a shower screen bracket.

Glass shower door handles

The Corfu is a pair of back-to-back Ø30 mm knobs, 63 to 80 mm long overall, one on each side of the glass. Glass shower door handles of this kind mount through a hole in the door panel, so check the hole and glass thickness before you order. Knobs keep the profile small beside the hinges, and in the same finish they make the screen look like one piece. Like the hinges, the Corfu is 304 stainless steel.

Shower door handles, NZ delivery and finishes

Pick the same finish as your shower and basin taps: antique brass, brushed brass, brushed nickel, brushed gunmetal, black or chrome. Fittings beside the shower head are splashed every day, so brushed nickel (easier than chrome) and gunmetal (easier than black) are the low-effort choices. Delivery is free NZ-wide.

Replacing a hinge on an existing screen

Toughened glass can't be drilled once it's toughened, so a replacement hinge has to suit the holes already in your glass. Check three things first: the glass thickness (ours suit 8 to 12 mm), whether the door hangs from glass or wall, and the hole positions in the existing panels. Your glazier can compare them with ours, and fit the new hinge so the door still closes square.

Who fits them

Your glazier or shower-screen installer fits the hardware with the glass, because the panels are cut and drilled to suit the fittings before they're toughened. Choosing a shower covers screens with heads and mixers, and caring for tapware finishes applies to the hinges too.

Every product here has the same cover: 15 years on the body, 7 years on cartridges, valves and moving parts, 3 years on the finish and 2 years on washers, seals and O-rings (tapware warranty).
