Irregular mirror questions

Do these mirrors plug in, or do I need an electrical worker?

There’s no plug. Every LED mirror here is hardwired, so a licensed electrical worker connects it to a 220–240 V supply on the wall behind the mirror. Ask for the supply near the centre of where the mirror will hang, and if you’re renovating, settle that before the wall is lined or tiled. Do LED mirrors need an electrical worker? explains the cable position.

Can I get a custom size or shape?

Yes. We make mirrors to any size and shape, and they take about 8 weeks. If none of our outlines suits your wall, we can make one to your drawing. The price depends on the size and the features you choose. Send your measurements through our custom mirrors page and we’ll quote; we typically reply within 24 hours. Custom mirrors are made to order, so they can’t be returned for change of mind.

How long does delivery take, and is it free?

Delivery is free New Zealand-wide, and in-stock orders leave us within 1–2 business days. The delivery line on each product page shows when yours should arrive.

Can it go on plasterboard or tiles?

Yes, as long as the fixings go into something solid: the studs or noggins behind plasterboard, or the masonry behind tiles. Plasterboard alone won’t hold it. All the fixings are in the box. If you’re building or renovating, ask your builder for a noggin where the mirror will hang. Replacing a builder’s mirror covers removal and fixing.

Are they safe in a bathroom?

Yes. Every Invogue mirror is rated IP44, which means it’s protected against splashing water. Because it’s hardwired, your licensed electrical worker confirms the position suits the bathroom zones and RCD protection under AS/NZS 3000. The zones depend on where your bath, shower and screens are, so mention them when you book.

Irregular LED mirrors in organic, pebble and half-moon outlines, plus an irregular mirror cabinet. Widths run from the 590mm Onde to the 940mm Lucca, and every model has warm, neutral and cool light with Bluetooth audio.

The irregular range

  • The Lucca: a pebble-like organic outline, backlit, in 760 x 890mm or 940 x 1090mm.
  • The Onde: a fluid organic outline, backlit, 590 x 850mm. The most compact of the four.
  • The Lune: a half-moon mirror, backlit, 667 x 1000mm.
  • Lucca Cabinet: the Lucca as a mirror cabinet, front-lit, 760 x 890mm and 117mm deep.

Sizing an irregular mirror

Measure the mirror at its widest point and compare that with your benchtop. We generally recommend the largest size that's no wider than your vanity. When in doubt, size up, if the space allows it; if a side wall, tiles or the door make it tight, go one size down. The 760mm Lucca suits vanities of 760mm and wider, and irregular shapes often look right a little narrower; our vanity sizing guide has the detail. The 940mm Lucca is the one to look at for a wide single or double vanity; the double vanity guide covers one large mirror versus two. Leave 100–200mm between the top of the tap (or splashback) and the lowest point of the glass, never less than 100mm.

Which outline for which wall?

The Onde is the smallest, at 590mm wide, so it fits a compact ensuite or powder room vanity. The Lune is 667mm wide but a full 1000mm tall, so it adds height above a narrow vanity. The Lucca is nearly as wide as it is tall, which makes it the natural pick for a broader benchtop or a feature wall.

An irregular mirror cabinet

The Lucca Cabinet puts storage behind an organic outline. Behind the door you get adjustable glass shelves, a mirrored back panel, soft-close hinges, an IP-rated 10 A outlet in the top section and a sensor light. Mount it on the wall surface or recess it. See every mirror cabinet, or read mirror cabinet or bathroom mirror before you choose.

Light and features

The Lucca, Onde and Lune are backlit, so light spills onto the wall around the outline. All four models offer warm, neutral and cool light and Bluetooth audio. The three mirrors also have an anti-fog demister, touch controls, copper-free glass and LEDs that last up to 50,000 hours. Our LED mirror features guide explains each one.

Where an irregular mirror works

An organic outline is meant to be noticed, so it suits a bathroom where the mirror is the feature. If you would like a softer curve that still feels ordered, look at our oval mirrors or round mirrors, and the shape guide compares them all.
