Door handles and locks that match your tapware
Most door handles are chosen on their own; ours are made to match the taps. The Santorini lever, the Prague privacy lock and the Venezia butt hinge come in the same six finishes as our basin taps and showers, so the bathroom door can match the vanity.
Door handles: interior doors and sizes
The Santorini and Prague suit doors 30 to 42 mm thick with a 60 mm backset, the distance from the door edge to the centre of the handle hole. That covers most interior doors, but measure yours before ordering. The Santorini's roses are Ø53.5 mm. If your doors are thicker, thinner or have a different backset, these won't suit, so it's worth five minutes with a tape measure first, on each door you plan to change.
Bathroom privacy: the Prague lock
The Prague gives privacy on bathroom and bedroom doors and suits the same door sizes as the Santorini lever, so the two can go on one door. All three pieces are 304 stainless steel.
Why a lever
A lever is easier than a round knob to open with wet or full hands, which is why it suits a bathroom or laundry door. When you replace an old handle, check that the Ø53.5 mm roses cover the marks and holes the old one left on the door face.
Hinges
The Venezia hinge is 102 × 76 × 3 mm and sold individually, so order as many as your door needs. Matching hinges matter on a door that is seen from both sides. A butt hinge sits in a recess in the door edge and frame, so only the knuckle shows when the door is closed.

Choose antique brass, brushed brass, brushed nickel, brushed gunmetal, black or chrome, with free delivery NZ-wide. Black stands out on a white door, nickel and chrome stay quiet, and the brasses pick up a warm vanity. Taking the finish of the bathroom taps through every interior door makes the house read as one. Shower door knobs are in shower screen hardware, and door hardware is fitted using the instructions supplied with it.
